So we’ve all heard about it and we are watching the numbers climb on the daily. I’m of course talking about the over 1 million people who have signed up to a joke facebook event “see them aliens”. But what would actually happen if they did in fact try pulling this off?
The growing group of users have been called to meet at Area 51, the US Air Force base in Nevada that’s long been a source of alien conspiracy theories, in September.
The page says “If we Naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets”, which is referencing the Japanese manga-inspired running style with arms outstretched backwards and heads forward.
A pinned post on the page attempts to cover its bases, reading “Hello US government, this is a joke, and I do not actually intend to go ahead with this plan. I just thought it would be funny and get me some thumbsy uppies on the internet.” But as the event has gained traction — inspiring dozens of memes and jokes — the profile of the situation has risen, so much so that the US Air Force has been made aware of the potential impending raid.
HISTORY OF AREA 51’s CONSPIRACIES
In 2013 Area 51 was officially acknowledged as an Air Force Base, but has generated many conspiracies including the most popular that the site being a harbour for extra terrestrial life and UFO’s. To sum up, it’s thought that Area 51 holds all the Government secrets regarding Aliens. Although, the CIA have produced documents which state that it is nothing more than a test base. But here’s where things get a little fishy, the US Government has spent a whopping $22 Million on UFO research, not exactly a small amount to be spending on something trivial. Just last month a group of US senators were briefed on UFO encounters the US Navy has had too.
Let’s SEE THEM ALIENS!
