After what feels like an eternity of waiting, the time has come… Season 5 of our favourite gritty drama Peaky Blinders is finally set to air in the coming month.
Since the show is centred around one of Birmingham’s most notorious street gangs, it only makes sense that the show airs its first episode in the same city.
Thats right, if you a die hard fan who can’t wait for the show to drop on BBC One, fans can head on down to BBC Birmingham and BBC One, who are hosting an exclusive world premiere.
It gets better… You won’t even have long to wait, as the first episode airing at Birmingham Town Hall is on the 18th of July
Even better, you can even get a chance to see your favourite stars from the drama as part of a red carpet, including returning characters such as Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson and Sophie Rundle.
Creator Steven Knight, said this: “Birmingham is of course my first choice for the world premiere, the cast and crew love it here.
“Birmingham is the epicentre for the show and it means so much to me to come back here year after year and start the series with a bang.
“This year we’re at the Town Hall, which is a great venue, with more fans than ever before able to see the programme.
“I can’t wait to see everyone’s reactions on the night.”
Joe Godwin, added: “BBC Birmingham is so excited to be hosting the world premiere of Peaky Blinders – it’s a real fan favourite across the Midlands.
“It’s a brilliant event and screening which showcases one of the most popular drama series on the BBC ever right here in the heart of Birmingham!”
If you’re a Peaky fan and want to get involved and be in with a chance of seeing the premiere episode of season five before everyone else, apply on the BBC website here. The ticket ballot has already started and will be open for a week, so if you want them get them quick
For those of you too far away or you’d rather enjoy the first episode from the comfort of your own home, at least you know there’s not long to wait until it finally drops on TV.
Until then, why not binge-watch the entire first four seasons in preparation. They’re all available to watch on iPlayer now.
